A technology system is a group of interconnected devices, and systems are a collection of technologies. In the old days, when the term was used more to describe a technology platform, the underlying technology was thought to be the sole responsibility of the company creating the platform.
There were times when this was true. But technology systems today are so interconnected that the underlying technology company has no choice but to make the technology to be part of the system. For instance, it’s very common to see integrated information systems be built out of the same chip, and the logic and algorithms of the chip are the only thing that’s proprietary.
One of the reasons this is important is because companies are moving to be more integrated and less of a “single source”. They are not just building a platform for a single technology. They are building platforms with many different technologies. And if they don’t build these platforms from the same technology? They have to make something new.
So if you want to take a look at our integrated technology systems, here they are….
Our integrated technology systems consist of three components. The first component is chips. The second is software. The third is our servers. All of this is built into the same chip, but it’s all built in different ways, and we call all of them “integrated.
Chips: At our company, we’re using chips from several different companies. Two of those chips are the chips that control the lights and the video, and two are the chips that control the lights and the video. So all of the lights and the video are controlled by a single chip built by one company.
So when we say that we’re using chips from multiple companies, we’re actually just using the same general chip, but with different chips built by different companies. The chips we use are from companies like Texas Instruments, Texas Instruments, Inc., and National Semiconductor.
So how do we know that the chips we’re talking about are the same? Well, we can see the chips in action by following their names, like we did when we had to deal with the PS3 controller.
When the chips were built by the same company, they have a “branding” name. So when we say we’re using Texas Instruments chips, we really are saying we’re using Texas Instruments chips built by Texas Instruments. (And with a touch of my imagination, I can also tell you that the chips we’ve been using are from Texas Instruments but built by Texas Instruments.
The system were talking about here is the Integrated Technology System (ITS) that is used in most high-end systems, meaning in our case, our PS3 controller. For those of you who don’t know, this is a chip that integrates the processing and memory of a system into a small chip that fits into a tiny package much like a memory card.
