The 2012 Acura TL is a car that definitely does not have a crazy amount of power, but it is comfortable to drive, doesn’t feel like a sports car, and has a really good amount of tech behind it.
It does have a nice amount of tech though, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing around 450hp. This engine was developed by Acura, and is capable of producing about 500HP or so. It also features a six-speed automatic transmission. This transmission is capable of switching gears in both manual and automatic modes, and is also capable of shifting to third and fifth gears when the engine is not in gear.
It also features a sport-biased suspension. Like most cars you’ll feel the car’s suspension on the road, but unlike most cars you’ll feel the suspension on the track. Acura’s suspension can be configured in five different manners: firm, soft, stiff, compliant, and sporty. Each suspension configuration has it’s advantages and disadvantages, so just know which one is best for you.
Acura’s suspension was designed and tested with the ultimate in sport racing in mind, and that’s why the suspension is good on the track, but not so much on the road. That means your cars suspension needs to be able to handle the different road conditions in order for it to do what it is supposed to do.
The sport suspension provides the best handling, but it’s a lot stiffer than the stiffest car suspension out there. The sport suspension is one of the few that makes your suspension look like it’s made out of wood. Because it’s so stiff, it has to be hard to roll the car over to get under the car for the driver to put the car in park.
